The Motion Picture Association  Of America, (MPAA) urges parents to “Check the Box” on PG and PG13 films for information about why a film is rated the way it is.

This week at CinemaCon, an annual meeting of Theater Owners, in Las Vegas Nevada, MPAA chief Christopher Dodd announced that descriptive information about films would be clearer and more prominently displayed.  Dodd said, “The campaign we are announcing today focuses on these descriptors, giving parents the information they need to navigate the rating system and movies coming to their theaters.”

This new campaign continues the work that began in 1990 when content information was first added to PG rated films.
